Thinking of making it up to BR tomorrow with the kids (6, 4 and 2) and wife. Besides walking around the campus, stadium and the tiger cage, what are some other things to do. Graduated in 2002 and haven't been on campus for a few years.

Bring some bread to feed the ducks.
You could go downtown to the USS Kidd. Or the New State Capital and look off the observation deck at the top.

Go to the new bookstore is a must.

new bookstore was definitely one of the things i wanted to see. It's in the union still correct?

If you go downtown, check out the Louisiana Museum. Full size shrimp boat inside and a submarine that was found in Lake Pontchatrain. Kids would like it.

It's right across the street from the union now.

Across Highland, just behind the old President's mansion.
Looks like your kids are old enough to drink at Reggies, FWIW.

New bookstore is pretty sweet and worth checking out.
Dairy store would also be a good stop if it's open on Saturdays.

The museum downtown, the one with the planetarium is surprisingly good for young kids. They had, last January, a room where they could do crafts and stuff. They also had lots of neat interactive things.

What is the Louisiana museum? The LASC or something else?

Any other good places to eat close to campus besides Chimes. We used to go there all the time, but, just asking in case something else close better.

For kids? Five Guys, Chipoltle, Pei Wei.

My daughter loves to go to Walk-Ons. They have those claw machines that kids love as well as a shoe from Dr. Shaq. The hostesses will take the shoe out of the case and show it to your kids if you ask them nicely.

There's also a museum next to Lod Cook on the lake and in the first floor of the athletic building.
If you're lucky, you may find an open gate to take a look inside the stadium.

How was it? What did y'all do and see and what would you recommended to others?

Checked out the bookstore, incredible how big and nice it is. Then went to miles cage, walked around the stadium. Drove around campus stopping and walking at various spots. Then late lunch at chimes and headed back to Nola. Was a very nice time and the kids enjoyed it.
