You trying to sell your service brah? jk

Looks good - my desk wires at home are a freaking nightmare. I picked up some of those plastic loops and it's much better.

No doubt. It's really a clusterfrick with those wires. Those guys are far more organized than me.

What industry are you in?

Due to fires/floods etc? I have friends that work for Worley Catastrophe and they get to see the all the damage from the hurricanes, tornados etc. Pretty crazy stuff man.

My brother's company sells all those racks and servers. A huge amount of $$ in the IT remarketing business.

Raises hand.

We do data center cabling primarily. Two of my guys spent 6 hours today fixing a mess like one of those. It would cost the client less if they'd had us cable the environment the first time.

I have the same background. I'll have to find the before and after pics that I took off Stupp Corp's server room that I cleaned up years ago. I used to get my jimmies rustled badly when we would spend days cleaning up rooms like that and go back a week later and the lazy arse IT gurus would completely screw it up. Now I just see it as an opportunity to charge em for doing it again.

ETA: 99.9% of all rooms that look like that are the product of lazy unorganized IT dorks not giving a shite how patch cords get from A to B.

To be honest, I hate cabling.

ETA: Use velcro.

No, no, no. Just no to zip ties. Very bad for data cabling.

But for how long? Just enough time to take an AFTER picture probably.

Although velcro makes alterations much easier, cable ties aren't a big deal as long as you tighten them just enough to hold the bundle neatly together.

And so long as you keep extras handy as well as scissors/knife. Otherwise, velcro is the superior option.

I wouldn't want you or your techs in my equipment room. We all know that zipties ALWAYS get cinched down too tight no matter how many times you tell em not to. Velcro 100% of the time will save you future headaches and $$$

Exactly. Zip ties are bad practice. Only Velcro in my company.
