The owners of La Divina Gelateria will close their Magazine Street location in the Garden District after this weekend to focus on their growing wholesale operations, but their locations on Loyola University’s campus and in the French Quarter will remain open, they announced Tuesday.

After eight years, the Magazine Street shop’s last day open will be Sunday (June 22).

I went there for the first time a couple weeks ago. Had a blueberry basil gelato that was very refreshing.

nola.com said the reverse yesterday.

I believe the Quarter store is closing.

ETA:

Lies, by nola.com, they scrubbed their story.

Good gelato. Don't see many people in there when I walk by, though.

It's also got to be hard to peddle ice cream in such a dark and depressing space, even if you try to use funky furniture. They always had some surly arse ice cream servers in there, as well.

I liked the gelato, but I thought those two things, made it a hard sell.

The Baton Rouge location has become a favorite lunch spot of mine. Hopefully it doesn't become a casualty as well.
