this fall will be my first year at lsu and i am wondering if the students have any opportunities to get tickets to away games, at a discounted price like the home hames? if so how do you go about that, im sure they are limited. thanks in advance

nope. at least not significantly. I want to say the window is only for returning students and it closed long ago, but you can always try to buy from a student who already claimed.

They be expensive but worth it. I remember away game trips more than anything from college.

Hit the nail on the head. Totally worth it. I went to Dallas for both the Oregon and TCU games, Atlanta for the SEC Championship, and The Swamp for the 2012 loss to Florida. I had an asbolute blast at all of them (more so at the ones we won though of course ).

The opportunity to order/pay for away games has passed. I already got charged for Wisky and Auburn games. But my buddies usually wait till a few weeks before the actual game and post on social medias that they're looking for tickets.

A lot of people end up selling theirs because of school schedules and what not. If you know a good bit of people at LSU you shouldn't have a problem finding people selling away tickets

I believe the deadline has passed for returning students; however, I'm not sure about freshmen. Even if you aren't able to buy them from LSU, you'll easily find them from students who decide they can't make the roadtrip.

Go to every away game (haven't been to UF). Best memories of college

This year is my last football season as a student. I've been to Bama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Dallas for Oregon, TCU and A&M. Those are my fav memories so far. Get a bunch of friends and go and you'll have a good time win or loose

even if you can't get tickets, don't let that stop you from making the trip.

I've been to Bama 2x, OM, and Auburn without tickets in hand before and always end up finding tickets the day of (including Bama 2011 which was the GOAT road trip of all times). Having them before you go makes it a little more stress-free, but all in all its about the party.

Only time I didn't have a ticket by game time was Bama 07 and it was still an incredible trip.

I've found that students at every school are much better fans than some of the older counterparts. No shite talking outside of good natured ribbing and everybody just wants to enjoy the party.

Those trips are an incredible experience, and I pity the fool who doesn't take the opportunity to do them while in undergrad. Crash with buddies who go to the school if at all possible and never opt for the stay in memphis and just do a day in oxford type traps. You want to be in and around campus where the action is.

Definitely okay to go without ticket. Either find a bar to watch game at or buy one there. Away game road trips are awesome. I loved seeing other campuses, campus life, and meeting new people.

I'm emailing the whoever is in charge if the priority point system this summer. I went to EVERY road game last season and only got 25 points (5 points a piece). That is absolutely fricking ridiculous. 500 dollars in tickets for 25 points. And because I only went to the home games worth a damn my point total is abysmal. So pissed

But yes, I recommend you go. Every trip but Gainesville has been an absolute blast. Great people and great college towns. It is so worth it. Just don't expect any points out of it

Not really. I think it's a reasonable system. You should go to home games... You are part of the problem.

Totally agree. Florida is pretty crappy place to tailgate. I've heard if you go with people who know what they are doing it can be fun, but I thought the trip was just okay.

It's the same for everyone. Home games being worth 20 points is an incentive to go to home games. Think, they try to raise attendance by implementing a system that rewards home attendance with opportunities to buy away/bowl tickets from them.

Just like the smaller sports have "priority point" games, it's to help out attendance. Long story short, quit your bitching and go to the home games.

but paying for a $90 ticket, 10 bucks more than our entire student ticket package, constitutes only 5 priority points?

It's whatever. I'm a senior now and I've made every road trip, so I'll just be going to Fayetteville to visit friends and Wisconsin.

It's not about $$$$ It's about attendance.

i get that, but it also looks great for the LSU brand when we bring great road crowds. I also like to indulge and go out and eat/drink quite a bit.

We can agree to disagree, but 5 points? that's nothing. that makes no sense I could walk into a volleyball point game, swipe my card, and get half the points I would driving 11 hours to Athens.

I agree with what you're saying. I've just been going to LSU games since i can remember. there's nothing like a big home game in death valley, but some of these dogshit OOC teams that roll in with their tail between their legs just do not interest me at all

I know that for returning students everyone got what they ordered. You'll probably get an email at some point for freshman to order tickets. They won't be discounted but you'll sit with other students most likely.

They should make every event a priority point game. Its pretty dumb that people can go to two basketball games and two baseball games a year and get just as many priority points as someone who went to all of them.
