What happened to Rock 93.7? Did they downsize their signal strength? When driving I now get Rock 93.7 from Lafayette and Magic 93.7 from Biloxi competing. Which makes both unlistenable.

I don't know. It's disappointing. Now I have to listen to 6 Katie Perry songs on my way to work.

Well, there goes literally the only rock station in BR. I still haven't recovered from 104.9 and 92.3 going country.

They're streaming rock right now, but on air I'm hearing pop.

Maybe it's the other station the OP mentioned?

They had a lightning strike on their tower the other day. They're still trying to fix it.

Well that's good news! I only listened to the 90's nooner, but it was some of the best radio around.

96.3 in New Orleans has become almost unbearable now because they play the same 10 songs all day

97.9 from the coast has been the only legit rock station in 15 years

XM doesn't have the local traffic to keep us out of some jams.

That junk is compressed so badly it sounds like a bad download from Napster. Not interested in sat radio.

The sound quality on XM radio is absolutely pure 100% dogshit! It sounds like streaming music through Realplayer back in 1998.

I like radio in my car so I can hear songs I've never heard before or haven't heard in a while. Listening to the music I own on my ipod can get stale after a while because I want to hear something new every once in a while. 93.7 was a good station in a lot of respects because it played a lot of more obscure rock, local metal, and 80s music that rarely is heard over the air-waves. I don't like a lot of their stuff (not a big Theory of a Dead Man, Seven Dust, Five Finger Death Punch, or Nickleback fan), but it's a great change of pace station from the frequent crappy 80s music on 98.1, the stale 60s and 70s songs on 97.7, and the ever inconsistent (both in signal quality and programming) BR Public Radio.

Radio in BR is atrocious, so losing 92.3 and 93.7 in the same year would be devastating.

The '96 Chevy I drive around at work doesn't exactly have a USB port in it. And, considering id probably be fired if I drove around with headphones in I think radio is the best listening device available.

My 06 Ford doesn't either. I'm considering switching out the shitty radio that's in it for a new one with an auxiliary port. Does anyone know how much a car stereo with a not super-skippy cd player, AM/FM radio, and auxiliary port goes for these days?

If it's gone that's bull shite, if it's just a tower issue then thanks be to Odin.
