LSU and the SEC network (Baseball, basketball, and football).

LSU just held a q&a session about the SEC network. Watch it here.
They are running a twitter chat until noon if you have any questions.
I asked them on Facebook how it would affect LSU Baseball and Basketball online, in that would all baseball and basketball games be online similar to how they were on geauxzone. The response was that they expect all, at least home, baseball and basketball games to be either on the TV network or online. Away non-sec games are under the other conference's contract. Away SEC games, if not picked up by the SEC Network or the online platform can be made available at the discretion of the home team. LSU plans to put all baseball/basketball home games online.
The other question I asked is what is the network pecking order for Football games on TV. The response I got gathered with information I have read elsewhere was:
1. CBS will still have first pick of their 2:30 games, and doubleheader games when necessary.
2. ESPN/SEC network will get all of the remaining games.
3. There will be a game on the SEC network starting at 11am (central) nearly every week.
4. There will be a game on the SEC network at around 2 or 3pm that will compete with the CBS time slot.
5. Tigervision is gone.
6. Game replays will be on the SEC network now, not CST. "Nearly all" SEC games will be replayed on the SEC Network the day/week following the game. (I'm guessing the "nearly all" part meant not the CBS games because it's an ESPN platform, although this is just me speculating.)

there have been replays of CBS games on ESPNu the past few years so I don't see why the SEC Network wont replay them

2 possibilities that come to mind. Does the SEC have rights to games played in non-SEC stadiums? I would think there would be some reciprocation deals between the conferences, but maybe not. What happens if there are 10 replay slots, but 12 games to replay? maybe 2 games get pushed to the next week when they are fewer games to replay.

This is the worst TV slot for the SEC ever.. I'm unsure why they're still using it. It probably has to do with the SEC game day show pre-starting a SEC Game.
In my opinion, it would be tren setting for the SEC to allow its pre game show to extend into the opening games of other conference games on other channels. Meaning (starting the SEC games at noon central time)
I know these decisions go through Espn these days. So it's probably not a option for the SEC.

Good post. I know a lot of uninformed posters were worried about losing baseball coverage with CST going away. This should clear that up.

LSU will not have one of the 11am games, joe alleva promised us.

I love this for all the bitches that said we'd see less baseball

sounds like we might get more baseball then. Do most other schools have some sort of Geauxzone-like platform for their games?

cant be true. the older crowd on here keeps telling me the sec network will greatly diminish my baseball viewing abilities.

most schools out of the SEC have a geauxzone type setup i would imagine

even better!
so basically with the SEC network, every game should be able to be watched if LSU is playing baseball. in theory.

In the Q and A that Franques and Rush filmed they stated that the Geauxzone would not produce live game content any longer. We would get every SEC baseball game if each school continues to produce the content and it is streamed through the SEC network digital platform. However, if a school chooses not to produce the games, then no dice.

That's kinda what I got out of it too.

So the question is will LSU or any other member institution continue to produce the games when they are not getting the $9.99 per month?
