What's the boards take on the Bourne movies. I thought Supremacy and Ultimatum were great. Supremacy has the best story and Ultimatum had the best action sequences. The first one was pretty good. I hated the last one with Renner. Just wanted to get the boards view on them.

The best fight scene I had ever seen..........until I watched Captain America 2.

I loved the first one. I like the next two, but they all just blur together in my mind now. I didn't think there was enough distinct storytelling.

The Renner one didn't really offer much other than to go into the whole "meds" thing. Was that in the books? IDK.

Classic line inspired by the Bourne movies--Paul Rudd in "40 y/o Virgin"...

I didn't read the books, but I hated this. I turned it off the first time I saw this brought up in it. I ended up finishing it later, but this whole story line came out of left field for me.

The first book and first movie are similar. After that they are almost nothing alike. They share the occasional name or plot point but they are total different for the most part. But the Jeremy Renner one wasnt at all like any of the books Ive read.

The first one and the last one with Jeremy Renner were my favorites. Like a previous poster, the middle two were a little shallow and the storyline looked too forced. Don't know why people didn't like Renner. He played a good part, but then again Damon was the shnizzle in the original.

Renner is great but that reboot was doomed from the get go. It needed 10 years at least if they wanted to create a franchise.

The Bourne Identity is probably my favorite. Hard to believe it came out 12 years ago.

The original 3 came loosely from Robert Ludlum's original Bourne Trilogy books. The Bourne Legacy is a new book written by Eric Van Lustbader, who has continued on after Ludlum. Lustbader has written 7 or 8 Bourne books.

The Renner movie was supposed to follow the Legacy book and feature Jason Bourne. But plans changed and they decided to spin up a new character based in the world of Jason Bourne. It wasn't a terrible movie. I'm not sure why they used the name they did as it literally has zero tie in to the book. Zero. The movie character doesn't even exist in the book.

Loved them all. It is extremely difficult to make a movie like the Bourne Identity and then come through with acceptable sequels after it that don't completely jump the shark. I can still sit on the couch and watch all three on a Sunday if it came down to it.

I always wanted to see them make a sequel to Spy Game but again, it is extremely difficult for them to follow up on something like that without it going all Sci-Fi James Bond bullshite.

I didn't see it, but I thought it was a parallel storyline and not a reboot?
