Why would I overspend on something if I don't have to? I'm going to find what I want and make sure I am getting the best deal I possibly can for it.

while not the best financial decision some people like nice cars. I see no problem with it. Get what you can afford.

By purchasing a new tahoe you have already made the decision to overspend so attempting to justify the mistake by "saving" on a 14 model is just delusional. Decide what you want and then go get it but don't act like "good financial sense" is playing into your choice.

So should he pay over MSRP since he decided to buy a new one? I mean he's already made one decision, shouldn't matter to just over pay, right?

The new model is not my cup of tea. I drive a 2012 and I love it. Hold no hope for a back seat, those things are completely useless. A tahoe is a 4 person vehicle, 5 at best.

I bought mine used and they gave me the wheels upgrade for free.

you know, he's one of those people that buys new cars

the people that go to the dealer ship, just pick one out and don't even negotiate, because whats saving 3 thousand bucks when you are spending 50

that would be pointless wouldnt it

I can guarantee you that they didn't get you free wheels. One way or the other, you paid for those wheels

What does the LTZ have that the LT doesn't? And of those differences, can some be added to the LT without going full LTZ?

Trying to get this back on track.

Absolutely.

He probably does that with his used accord as well. Thinks he did great paying $25k when he could have gotten an identical car in Houston for $5k less.

I buy things because their inherent value increases my quality of life by an equal or greater amount. Saving 10k on an Lt is meaningless if I want leather and 4 wheel drive but don't get it. Then you have spent your money and not gotten what you really wanted. Figure out what options you want and then go find the best deal. You are doing it backwards.

this i can agree with

however, it seems like the OP is still trying to figure out what he wants, which was the purpose of this thread

he's decided he wants a new tahoe, and now he's in the process of narrowing it down

At the rate GM has been issuing recalls, I'd be hesitant to buy a 2015 since it's the first year of an all new model...especially given the fact you'd have to pay more for it.
