Pretty sure there is a huge emphasis placed on cleanliness in their culture. I want to say that part of going to school there are periods where they clean.

Yep... thats just how they are. And most orientals are like that.

I know people that have been to Japan, Thailand, Philippines, etc. And they all said that it was ridiculously clean. Especially Japan and Thailand. Was surprised to hear that about Thailand.

Japan and most of Canada are both incredibly clean. I would eat off the subway floors in Tokyo.

Singapore is super clean. They tie you up, strip you naked, and beat you with reeds if you litter.

They are collecting all the plastic bottles to turn them in for 10 cents a piece to find their trip.

gum is illegal in singapore, just so it won't end up on the ground.

Also you get fined bad if you throw a cigarette but. And the tax on new cars is 150%.

So buy a $30,000 car, you have to pay $45,000 in taxes. So a Camry or Accord costs around $75-80,000.

You also have to bid on a Certificate of Entitlement, which allows the car to be on the roads in Singapore for 10 years. That will put you back another 55-60K.
