Carmelo Anthony is leaning toward leaving the Knicks in pursuit of immediate championship contention, according to Yahoo! Sports.

The Bulls and Rockets are mentioned as contenders for Melo. He would be leaving a lot of money on the table and reportedly would be willing to take less than the max deal in the right situation. Everything is just a guessing game, but it's become even more likely that he's going to opt out of the last year of his deal. You can expect more updates on Anthony than any other player over the next month.

I thought this was common knowledge. He already decided to opt out weeks ago.

Opting out isn't the same as signing with another team. He could opt out and resign.

Would love him to Houston.

Their defense would be even worse.

I'd love him on the Bulls.

Rose
Butler
Melo
Gibson
Noah

Could win the East (if Rose doesn't get hurt AGAIN.)

If he's willing to take less than the max, then he should go with the Bulls. The Knicks won't be able to do anything until after this season when Stoudemire and Chandler come off the books.

How do you figure?

Also, how bad do you think Houston's defense is?

I mean, they were 12th in the league in defensive efficiency. Only slightly worse than Miami, Toronto, and Washington, who are considered at least pretty good defensive teams.

Houston gave up 103.1 points per game which is good for 8th worst in the NBA.

Is there where I post a witty gif?

The Lakers averaged more points than the Heat this year. Do they have a better offense?

He could but he would lose millions doing that so I have no idea why he would.
