Saw his standup at the Ryman in Nashville last year.

He talked about it. He is rich as hell and moved to a small town in Iowa, Ohio, Illinois or something and lives on a farm.

"People ask where I've been all these years. "N**** I've been on the couch."

Would have to agree. Many good times watching ComedyCentral back in 04-05

So many catch phrases I still hear people use today!

He had a great interview on "Inside the Actors Studio." They used to have it on youtube, but I think it has been deleted.

He had a meltdown because he finally realized he was being treated like the minstrel show characters they made him portray.

Somebody tried to tell me that he left the show because the black community was upset for him downtalking their race and that Al Sharpton sent him a picture of his kids sleeping and threatened to hurt them if he didn't leave the show.

No doubt.

Why are comics the wide receivers of the entertainment world?

Ninety nine percent of the population of earth falls in line and does what they're told for a pittance.

I'm a big fan of Chappelle's work, I was before the show, but DC was a bitch about this. Take the money and STFU, do something good with it. Transfers of wealth on that scale are rare, creative latitude is simply not worth the forfeiture of that wealth. At some point, you have to recognize your duty to those in your orbit when you can command and broker the kind of deals they were getting.

Anyone can stop anything when they want, that doesn't make it sensible.

I'd have a tough time looking at my friends, the ones who got me to the point where I could command fifty million, and I would have a tough time not following through. Guy cost a lot of people a lot of career and creative latitude to maintain his own.

Everyone makes sacrifices for a more prominent cause. Chappelle walked away.

I know his parents are very educated and passed that intelligence down to their son.

Guy really is brilliant.

sidenote:

Hannibal Burris opened for him and was just as funny. Guy has a bright standup future.
