Exploded! Cleaned up the oven and rinsed the loins off with water. Safe to eat still?

And why did the dish shatter?

Might be fragments of glass in the tenderloin - wouldn't risk it honestly. If you've used the dish before, you were probably just lucky but there are a lot of those dishes that are not meant to go in the oven.

They need to come to temp slow, and cool slowly. Adding anything of the opposite temperature can shock them. That makes them explode. I used to bake my chops, then deglaze the pan for a quick gravy. It probably worked 49 times. I thought my wife shot me when it exploded. She said it probably wasn't her, but said that it was a warning.

This and never take them from the fridge and put them in a hot oven.

So no putting a room temp Pyrex in a pre-heated oven?

I washed them real good. They were halfway cooked. I re-seasoned them will try this again. Apparently it's actually very common after doing research

Had one blow on me before. Scared the heck out of me. I had cuts on the back of my legs from flying glass. That's what happens when you get distracted in the kitchen and accidentally put something on a burner you didn't remember was hot because you were rushed.

I trashed the ingredients. Can't be too careful with your digestive tract.

Pork, pitch. Beef, broil.

From a purely economic point of view.

Yeah just make sure you're meticulous in removing any shards of glass. Should be fine.

That's the thing I didn't see anything! I ran it under water then grazed the loin with my hand several times. I didn't feel a spec!

The shards that might still be in the tenderloin probably would be too small to make your intestines bleed anyway.

Did the same thing. Had one sitting on the burner. Turned the wrong burner on. Couple of minutes later, boom. Scared the shite out of me. Never seen so many pieces of glass in my life

I think I'm going to emergency room. What happens if you ingested a tiny piece?

You're fine for now. It's when you start shitting blood or spitting it up that you have to worry.

I have! Like a genius I put my glass topped patio table in the pool before a hurricaine (didn't want it to blow away and too lazy to bring it around to the garage).

After the storm passed I attempted to get it out of the pool by myself as I was too impatient to wait for help. It shattered into a million zillion pieces into the pool.

Try cleaning that up.

I never imagined reading about exploding Pyrex would be so entertaining. How the hell did you get the glass out of your pool??
