The future of the MLB is so bright, if only pitchers can keep their arms together

Kris Bryant hit his 22nd HR last night. This guy is amazing.

Rangers are trying to fast track Joey Gallo through the minors right now after hitting 21 homers in 58 games in High A. Went 1 for 5 in his Double A debut with 3 Ks, but his one hit was a 3 run homer and added another RBI with his other at-bat

I have been too. I'm a baseball nerd and normally get the Baseball America Prospect Handbook so I have all these names I like to follow that my friends have no clue who I'm talking about

A little smart, and a little pitiful that I'm following stats of some player in High-A ball like he's on my fantasy team

Marte, McCutchen, and Polanco. That's sexy.

Would have been sexier earlier in the year, but for the most part pirate fans have been pretty patient considering the club's previous errors bringing guys up too fast and considering the big league service date issues. Harrison's performance has certainly made the wait more palatable.

I'd just like to know what the future holds for Marte. There's a line in the Baseball Abstract where Bill James describes Shawon Duston as a permanent rookie, a guy who was essentially the same on the first and last days of his career and never really quit making rookie mistakes. I kinda wonder if Marte isn't like that. He's young though, so time will tell. Nice seeing him bust out of the slump last night.

I'm holding out hope Marte makes a Carlos Gomez type jump in the next few years. Their skill set aren't that dissimilar. Granted Marte has had more success early on in his career, but there are plenty of things he can still figure out.

It probably won't happen but it's not out the question either.

They also have Meadows who is a couple years away. The Tailon injury hurt them with their pitching depth this year.
