School asks 8th graders to state ‘how far’ they would go sexually

As a part of a sex education class, eighth graders at Woodland Park Middle School in San Marcos, California were asked to stand under signs that said how far they would be willing to go sexually.
The signs said “smiled at, hugged, kissed, above the waist, below the waist, and all the way,” as reported at the local ABC Affiliate.
The inconceivable “lesson” must have been completely humiliating for the children. If it were not for vigilant parents contacting the local news, this story would have likely never seen the light of day.
The parents said that “their daughter and her classmates were in disbelief because they thought the teacher wanted to know how far they’ve gone sexually.”

. . . . parents were outraged with a slide show that was shown to eighth graders. The local ABC affiliate reported:
“One slide talks about “Top Conception Myths” and mentions douching. The photo accompanying the slide shows young men with the caption ‘douche bag.’
Another photo shows a man on all fours, with a woman standing on him. The caption reads ‘girl on top can still get pregnant.’
The photo that enraged parents the most was a slide also focused on conception myths, but showed a picture of a man with blood on his face. The caption for that picture read: ‘A real man loves his woman every day of the month.‘” [emphasis added]

I gotta move out of this state.

Its not even conceivable that alleged educators could deem this to be appropriate.

I have no words, except that this is either the very, very best trolling article ever, or I'm moving to literally anywhere else.

The original article actually isn't quite that crazy.
It sounds like something you'd hear about at a Southern Baptist church.

The original article

Parents of an eighth grade San Marcos student contacted 10News outraged after their child said she was asked how far she was willing to go sexually.
The 14 year-old says it was part of a lesson in sex education at Woodland Park Middle School and the question was posed to every student in the class.
The teen's parents asked 10News to protect their identity because they fear their daughter will be embarrassed again.
On Tuesday, the parents say their eighth grader came home and told them her teacher instructed students to stand under signs labeled "smiled at, hugged, kissed, above the waist, below the waist, and all the way." The activity was part of a dating lesson in family life and health class.
"To put them up in front of their friends to be humiliated or to be asked questions that I believe are personal, it's really none of the school's business," the parent said.
School officials say the goal of the activity was to discuss what is appropriate for dating at the middle school level.

So we've found a conservative site posting a story about a single school district in California. Am I correct?

Yeah. No shite, and I know it's anecdotal, but something not that different happened at my high school (freshman year, so only one year older than these kids). It was a primarily Baptist school, and the point was that everyone should have aligned themselves with the "OMG NO SEX UNTIL MARRIAGE EVER OR YOUR CERVIX WILL MELT AND YOUR PENIS WILL FALL OFF" group.
ETA: If the other stuff is accurate, that's fricked up. Just the grouping thing, I've kind of seen before. Granted it's still wrong.

Which is not any way near as much fun as finding a quote from a village alderman in Lower East Pothole, Alabama that makes a racist statement and using it as an example of the Republican party's attitude on race?

Seemed a straightforward observation.
I thought it spoke for itself.

I was just wondering what your opinion was on the same thing being done but for a different reason.

You'd be shocked how many people need this myth busted.

Are we talking about the same post? I'm talking about the one where my super conservative, Christian high school did basically the same thing.
