Do you conservatives honestly believe everything the military tells you?

He doesn't hold the military's advice in a higher regard than his favorite peace loving Muslims.

I have to say that this is not going away. I think Obama went to try to do something to stop the bad PR and just ended up making a bad situation a whole lot worse.
I do hate to say it, but this second term has been an absolute comedy of errors. And his first term was no gem.
If he keeps this up, he will be viewed by history as a much worse president than Bushie will be. I do not say such a thing lightly. I think history will be rather harsh on Bushie, but Obama at this point is on pace to surpass or perhaps already has surpassed him.
The concerning thing is Obama has plenty of time to make many more mistakes, and that seems more likely than him suddenly getting the hang of things.

Do you honestly believe the President should disregard advice from the military in matters of national defense, in order to win political points?

This is NOT a conservative/liberal issue, or it shouldn't be.
What is so hard to understand? Five of the top detainees at Gitmo are suddenly freed, because the most arrogant President we've ever seen in our lifetimes decides to do an end-run around Congress, ignore the advice of the military and do what he sees fit. Those names had come up before and every time they were shot down by the military, intelligence and Congress.
Book it. Those five guys will be plotting new attacks on the U. S., if they're not already. More U. S. blood will be shed, and that blood will be on the President's hands.
This isn't conjecture. This isn't conservatives rejoicing because they have the President over a barrel. This is Americans concerned that the President would be so cavalier about releasing high level Taliban/AQ leaders who will get Americans killed in the future.

Do any of you liberals believe everything Obama tells you?
This administration is the most arrogant, dishonest bunch of bastards I have ever seen, I don't believe anything they say is factual or have any merit in my mind

I think Obama is only marginally worried about P.R. I mean, what can happen to him? Or a better question, what does he think can be done to him? Will Democrats turn on him, doubtfull. Do Republicans have the will or determination to stop him? Will the media completely turn on him? Is he running for any further office? Basically, he views himself as a king and doesn't really care what he does or what others think about him. The only way I'd see him stopped if he'd be handcuffed, arrested and physically removed from office. I don't see that happening.

Assuming that the war in Afghanistan is over at the end of the year, what do you do then? Keep prisoners indefinitely? Prisoners of war generally are not kept post-war except in places like the Soviet Union or North Korea. So possibly, Obama made the best deal he could in light of our ending the war in Afghanistan.
(The best possible ending for these guys would have been to terminate them instead of taking them to Guantanamo. I'm sure that one of our stooge ME strongmen would have accommodated our wishes).

I predict a mission to rescue the girls from Boko Haram is going to be the next attempt at swaying public opinion. But he'll manage to mess it up somehow.

The deepest concerns of critics of President Obama’s decision to release five Taliban commanders from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in exchange for Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl may be coming to fruition.
One of the commanders, Noorullah Noori, has plans to return to Afghanistan to resume fighting against the U.S., according to NBC News which spoke to another Taliban commander.
“After arriving in Qatar, Noorullah Noori kept insisting he would go to Afghanistan and fight American forces there,” the commander told NBC News.

The military doesn't think highly of their 4 star generals if they compare them to these clowns.
