Trouble with eggplant getting fertilized? Recommendations?

Anyone else having trouble with getting their eggplant to set fruit? I've tried shaking it each day.

my eggplant never fruit until July, then its like 2 a day from then on out. we cant give it away. only know a few people who like it

I only plant one 
My wife and I can only each so much a week and I'm not really a fan of it. Also depends on the species. I believe I use black beauty or something.

I've picked some already but they were a new strain of egg plant. They're long and shaped like a cucumber.

I got 5 of them and I already told the Indian guy in the office I will start bringing him bags in a few weeks. I get sick of them .
