Why rat out your own school? NCAA players often get many benefits while in college that are against the rules. Why go back and blow things up? Is it guilt?

My kid just finished 8th grade. One of his friends was trying to sell weed at school. He told us about it, and he didn't know what to do. He said if he didn't report it, if the kid ends up getting caught he could get in trouble for knowing and not reporting it. I was like, "the code, bro, the code..." Reminded him that snitches get stitches - mind your own damn business.

Reference the story in the OP. I am always amazed that the academics at the school, the tenured profs, aren't raising hell when this happens. Who is signing off on this guys grades?

I used to live in Raleigh and I was floored too that UNC was up to this kind of shanagens. They have that holier than thou attitude. They claim to have the best social workers program in the nation. Duke is clearly a better school but UNC tries to act like they are on par.
