Jeep Grand Cherokee questions

Have 3 of them...
1. Has anyone heard of Nexum tires? If have, what are quality of them?
2. Right now I have 215 75 15 on but thinking of going to possible 235 15 or getting 16's if I can find rims...Is there much between 15 and 16?
3. Going to tow the boat from Arkansas to Iowa/Nebraska, should I add a fuel additive? I am thinking may need little extra boost, but never used one.

What year you have?
My son has a 2002 that has 16" rims and has 235's on his. Without any lift, he is pushing it with those tires. In fact, my son was talking about going down to 15" rims, but I talked him out of it. Really no big difference.
I wouldn't use any fuel additive. Using that crap will plug up the converter over time. Don't ask me how I know.

1. Only have heard a little about Nexum, not enough to say anything good or bad.
2. Likely would cause more work than what you would get out of the change. You could go with a larger rim and the same size tire and the only difference would be less rubber on the road (smaller side walls) otherwise you might would have to look at a lift or rim center offset (type of rim)
3. I am with Fish, unless your Jeep is suspect, I wouldn't put any additives in. That being said, if your Jeep is Suspect, I don't think I would make a trip like that while towing a boat. What year and size engine?

Give some more details on the GC and give some details on the boat you are wanting to pull.

I think I may just 4 Goodyear Wrangler 235 75 15 on it
It is a 97 Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 I am going to pull a 15 ft Fiberglass bass boat, not a newer one of course.
I just think going with Goodyear, a company I have good luck with and it being sold in Walmarts also so if issue comes they can be replaced almost nationwide is the smart play for this

My 2006 runs 235/75/16 with no problems, but I think they changed the body style once, maybe twice between '97 & '06.

I bought some Wild Country XTX Sport for my 2000 GC about a year ago. I've only driven it about 4000 miles since but they seem to be great tires, on and off road. They were also only $700 OTD in a 255/70/16.
That doesn't help with your question about Nexum, unfortunately.

It would help if you let us know whether you have the 4.7 V8 or the 4.0 I-6. How many miles on the engine? Any transmission issues?
