Has anyone else been since they opened last Friday?

It was ok. I was not impressed. It's in a great location, but I just wasn't feeling it.

Looking for the opinions of others as well.

Is panera new to the region or something?

Never heard about them until they built one near the house about couple of years ago.

It is in probably the worst location for a fast food restaurant. Traffic is awful by it with all the people trying to pull in and out

The one in Mid-City New Orleans stays PACKED!! They must be doing something right with all of those sophisticated palates in The Food Capital of The World.

I went a couple days ago. First time I'd ever been to one. Loved it. Tomato soup, PB&J on white, asiago steak sandwich, cinnamon crunch bagel w/ honey walnut spread... all legit.

Kind of/ sort of. Opened its first in region in Metairie almost 2 years ago. Since then, popping up all over. Covington, Midcity, Houma, Slidell is about to get one, and this is the first I've heard of Jeff hwy.

Its decent food but the real reason I know some of this is because the closest one previously used to be in the Bama/FL Destin area. I saw the niche for the market so I looked up franchising info and the company doesn't do single stores, they sell the territory. You need to have money to make that money. So all the ones sprouting up are franchises of a single guy or group of investors. OT balla status, baw.

Gotcha, they've been around for years, I thought they were everywhere.

Great place to get bagels, cookies, and muffins etc... For account visits.

Mothers also stays packed and it's mediocre. What's your point?

Panera bread is a great spot for lunch when you're in a pinch. Always consistent...if I'm in a hurry in a city I'm not familiar with I look for a Panera. Beats the shite outta Subway and other crappy sandwich places.

I think Panera Bread and Five Guys are 2 of the most over-rated franchises out there. Five Guys is also very pricey.

Not that it's overly healthy, but you really don't see many fatties in Panera.

It's just sloppy as hell. Everything is soggy. And that's their "thing". Plus, yea, way too expensive. I don't get it.
