Don't even know what it means.

But the use of the word "word." Why? How do things like this come into being?

I believe it was the great American philosopher Chingy who first coined the term "bae".

It's from a joke photo on the internet. The original is a black woman sleeping with the caption "bae caught me slippin" (supposed to be sleeping). But in the mirror behind her you can see she took it herself.

I just recently heard about this as well. I heard the term "Bay" forever ago but "Bae" is the same thing but supposedly means "Before anything else" or some shite like that.

The only person I ever see use it is a black guy I know on Instagram.

And he's from Hammond.

Correct. She misspelled "babe" and "sleeping". The photo is a trifecta of utter stupidity.
