Would have been nice for some to have this over the last weekend while LSU was playing on ESPN3.

users will have to authenticate with their cable logins to prove that they pay for the content.

They need to add more than like 5 cable providers. I don't know why ESPN3 works with almost anyone but Watch ESPN is useless.

Just updated my app and running it now. It's insanely better than mirroring WatchESPN through chrome browser on the laptop

At work now so can't try it out for myself but I figured this would almost certainly be the case.

This. I have Appletv with Watch ESPN app but have directv as my provider so it's useless.

Espn3 works for games that aren't shown on traditional espn cable channels.

WatchESPN is for those that have an authorized cable provider. Which is a pretty extensive list.

It's HD clarity 100% of the time. Doesn't cut up or freeze.

And for those that borrow their buddy's password for his authorized cable provider.

Just checked and the list is actually better now. I remember it being a lot smaller.

That said, still not mine or my parents so I'm short on luck.

I have no idea what the problem was for me during the Regionals. I have DirecTV for TV and Cox for internet. I could watch the Regional on my PC at home, but on the apps I was getting an error message telling me I wasn't authorized to view the content. The credentials were the exact same.

the phone app is more sophisticated.

espn3 works on my laptop thinking comcast (my internet) allows me access. not true. i only have xfinity, no cable.

however, the app was smart enough to know my comcast plan didn't give me access.

i had to login to the app using my DISH credentials, then i was good to go.

so in shortr, they're not the same.

..and its clear where espn is putting their development dollars..the app.

No shite but as Golfer already stated, the quality is going to be much better with app support rather than from the Chrome browser.

Does the app offer the multiscreen view?
