we need more than commenting. I have suggested in the past that all technology workers do a slow down at work. this would get a lot of people to notice.

Some people have suggested that major sites may do another blackout like they did in protest toward SOPA and PIPA. That would be one of the most effective ways, especially if sites like facebook and netflix did it.

in terms of actual policy/power, can the FCC even allow net neutrality as the laws are written now?
i think the USSC stripped them of the power and they're just creating the regs according to law prior to having their regs invalidated

I think this would be the most effective way to get the point across. More than half the people I know don't even have an idea what net neutrality is going to do. If their Facebook/Instagram, Netflix, Amazon, eBay, Google/YouTube shut down for a day, 100% would be affected, pay attention, and raise all hell.

It is a shame that it is not going to make one damn bit of difference.
It started with the US giving up any control it had over internet naming.
The chairman of the FCC essentially works for the cable companies.

I think this would be the best thing to do. Place a preview in front of netflix videos discussing the importance of the net neurality issue.
Most people probably don't even realize this is going on. Like he said, the discussions usually sound pretty dull and boring.
The only other option is hope Google makes some major breakthroughs with their satellite internet and have amazing speeds... But then its just a waiting game before they decide to screw us too.

Yeah, it's extreme, but I'd bet at least 80% of the public has no clue what "net neutrality" means. Maybe like a Amazon "Prime-less" day "prank" to show the effects of it would be better?
