It seems to have turned in to a show for global warming. I am sad.

It sucks. Very disappointed in the direction the show took.

It's disappointing at times, but I am still watching. Definitely not quite as "science/space/cool" as I thought it would be though.

Haven't watched last night's yet though.

It really has become a Global Warming show without any counter evidence nor any real solutions. They dont even touch on the wrong predictions of the ones they hold up as soothsayers from years past.

They talk about the age of the earth and how young we are as a species but say that our data from only the last few hundred years is definitive of global warming. Although in the 70s they were worried about global cooling. I'm just disappointed with the direction of the show.

I gave up after 3. They have a lot of fat they could cut each episode like the cartoons. Needs to be a 30 minute show especially for such heavy material that takes a while for the mind to wrap around without feeling exhausted.

The last few episodes have not been their best. I still enjoy the show though. The global warming episode though did take a lot of liberties to present things that are far from "settled science". I wouldn't say I'm surprised, but I would have at least thought Tyson would have touched on the fact that carbon's greenhouse effect decreases with increased concentration, and gets to a point where it doesn't have any increased effect.

I've watched each of the shows. Generally not on Sunday nights though. (that was a suicide time slot to put it in).

I've enjoyed the series and I haven't found it to be overly biased. It deals with the scientific method and I think we've become so accustomed to the point/counterpoint style presentation of things that some people find it a bit jarring.

Then again, lots of stuff that is accepted as proven now were once hotly disputed.

Is it that you never watched the original Cosmos series? I ask that, because Sagan's original did exactly the same thing. Much of whatever that episode's lesson was about would be told through stories. In 1980, they were done with live actors portraying various individuals from the time period instead of cartoons, but he did it a ton. They are clearly trying to mimic that system.

Sagan also went off into what people now seem to feel are very "political" topics...and Sagan himself was FAR more vocal about his own personal politics than Neil DeGrasse Tyson is.

If there is a complaint to be made about this iteration of Cosmos is that it's trying TOO HARD to be what it's predecessor was, in a time when we are, thankfully, FLOODED with science programming...so Cosmos seems boring to some in comparison to faster paced shows on The Science Channel. That is actually funny, considering we live in a world of science programming made possible by the original Cosmos, and that programming is what is, in large part, making a Cosmos-like show seem quaint.

I never even heard of the original until this one came out.
