I know a bunch of you recommended this tour in St Lucia. How did you book it? Through your resort, or independently?

What did you wish you would have known to do/bring with you? Anything else I should know?

I was leery at first due to reviews on tripadvisor but it was one of the best parts of the trip for my wife & I.

We booked through the resort (Sandals) and took the bus to the docks.

Only thing I can say is buy a waterproof camera and bring it from US; shite is expensive on island.

LINK

Trip advisor has some very good reviews on Joe Knows.

Good to know about the camera. I may buy a lifeproof case for my iphone and just use that.

Yea, I'm the type of guy that glances over the 5 stars but scours over the 1 stars. There were reviews of getting sick from the local food they serve, drunk driving sea captains, not enough time at each spot, loud music, etc.

We didn't experience any of this. The music was loud, sure, but no more than an LSU tailgate. Had enough time to take pictures all over, I intended on not eating the local food but once they laid it down I couldn't resist, and the captain of our boat never touched the rum they pass around.

The mud baths stain light colored clothing and you don't actually go see the mud, they bring it down for you but you rinse off in the sulphur hot spring (felt amazing). We met some awesome couples on the boat we still keep in touch with. The bar in the restaurant was the only place I found glass bottled Piton, too.

I am going down there in December and asked about this a couple months ago. Several people recommended skipping joe's knows and going with this Elvis fellow, said they had a fantastic time. I think someone went on both and said Elvis blew the other one away.

Book it with a beach vendor. As for what to bring, a good attitude and a good, waterproof camera.

Charlie's tour is the best if you can book it. There's only room for three or four couples on his speed boat. $100 a person but worth it

I'm going next week for my honeymoon. Anyone have any tips for the Sandals Grande Resort I need to know about?

Definitely recommend Joe Knows.... It rained on us for about 70% of the tour and we still had an awesome time.

edit: actually didn't do Joe Knows... We did "Simon Says"... Which is the exact same thing basically but a different group... Sorry for the mixup.
