I'm looking to get a new car in the near future. I would like a sedan that's pretty fuel efficient seeing as I've driven a gas guzzling truck for the last 5 years. I think I've narrowed it down to these models and was wondering if any of y'all had experience or opinions about either. I'm looking to spend in the high teens low 20s ballpark.

You may be able to get the Focus ST in the low 20's. I'd go that route.

Charger and Fusion are a completely different class of car than Focus and Cruze

Chargers aren't exactly fuel sippers there, bro.

Fusion is a nice car. Friend of mine has one as his work car, and I've looked at getting one for the wife.

Any woman that would go for you simply because you were driving a stock $20K Charger over a Fusion is either incredibly naive or from LP.

Driving a Fusion as a rental. Not bad. Would get over all those choices.

I rented a Chevy Cruze for a long trip. It drove ok but wasn't very comfortable. Heck, the Kia Soul and Nissan Cube were even more comfortable than the Cruze. I would go for the Fusion out of those choices.

Jetta > Cruze and Fusion. Test drove them all and the Jetta murdered the other two in terms of handling and being entertaining to drive. It's also a lot bigger in terms of trunk space and rear legroom.

My baby:

It also starts cheaper than any of the cars you mentioned. I never did test drive a charger though, FWIW.

Rented a Fusion for two trips, one to Atlanta and one to Oxford. The performance and handling blew me away. Great car, smooth ride, spacious interior. Would recommend highly. I came away very impressed.

I drive an SEL AWD fusion, great driving car but i don't really like the new design. You might also check out the new Chrysler 2015 200c, reviews are very positive. My next car probably will be a Buick regal AWD.

I owned a rt charger for 6 years. One of the best vehicles I've ever owned. I drove mostly highway and got over 20 miles to the gallon.

I have a 2014 fusion for work. I don't have one good thing to say about it, and even my wife doesn't like it that much. I liked the 2012 I had slightly better , but still hated driving a car. Would never buy this car.

Out of all that, cruze diesel.

Or for low 20's, you can get a volkswagen jetta diesel and actually pull poon with it. Women love a volkswagen for some reason.
