Any of you people been there ? I was under the assumption it was another one of those MSG trough style places. There is a write up in the paper about the place and it looks legit.

Is that the place towards the end of Vets almost to the Winn Dixie?

I read the review this morning and was intrigued.

However, I know some people sort of get off on it, but I find this shite frustrating:

quote:

Just as I started feeling comfortable with this menu, however, I discovered that Soho has a second menu, available only if you ask for it, with a deeper dive on Cantonese dishes. It’s hand-written, and untranslated. But after some tableside consultations with Chueng, this roster yielded that bitter melon dish, almost acrid at first but mellowing into a fascinatingly strong, complex flavor after we garnished it up, and also the broiled oysters ($12.95), which were caked with equal parts ginger and garlic in a mix of soy sauce and oyster liquor.

Just give me a damn menu of EVERYTHING you offer when I walk into your place, and don't make me go through some goofy wink and nod routine to get your "good/authentic" food.

The reviews look good on Yelp and Urbanspoon. Will have to check it out. They also have 3 authentic Japanese dining rooms . (So I'm guessing you sit on the floor)?

If I'm going to be right there, I'm going across the street to Royal China, best Chinese food in town and cheaper, too.

Had a good lunch there today. Didn't dive deep into the menu just had soup, squid salad, and lo mein. Nothing blew me away but it was all good. They have killer lunch specials for $7.95. Will try again soon.
