Anyone think Urban Meyer would ever give the NFL a shot?

Throw enough money at him, yeah... I don't see anyone wanting to do that tho... He doesn't seem like he would transition well to the nfl. Like saban or even miles...

I could see it happening. Now that Carroll, Harbaugh and Kelly have had success the stigma of hiring college coaches seems to be wearing off.

Nope, Urban only wants to go where he can be the "big dog". The SEC got too hard so he quit. Took the Ohio St job because Ohio St is 10X better than any other B1G program.

Urbs would be having heart issues the first day of his new NFL job.

I don't think Urban fits the NFL. He has always been a recruiting machine who likes to have complete control, much like Saban. They coach differently of course, but both are absolute control freaks who build their programs through recruiting the best players. You can't do that in the NFL

I think this is his path, and I think it's probably within the next 5-7 years. If he gets OSU a NC before then, it could even be before that.

He always rubbed me the wrong way in his previous stops, but I liked him a lot on ESPN. As the coach of OSU I'm very torn, because I don't like him but he coaches my team, so I abstain from judgment

He was pretty bad as an announcer on games for ESPN. Just a pompous a-hole in the booth. Made me like Joe Buck.

Really? I thought he was actually good and much more knowledgeable about the thought processes than the guys who are lifers at broadcasting. He's one of the reliable guys who had recently coached at a very high level who you could ask "what would you run if you were the coach of this team on 3rd and 4" and he would be able to tell you a good option.

I like that more than Beth Mowins and OSU great Joey Galloway talking about how much they like the weather

I thought he was fine in the booth too.

People, especially LSU fans, always complain about something. Even more complaints when the individual was a rival coach or player and doesn't slob all over LSU during every single broadcast. If Urban was broadcasting Illinois vs Penn State on a Saturday in November, he should take every opportunity to talk about how great LSU is.

I'm not sure. Ohio State is his dream school.

With the talent he is stockpiling up there, it's only a matter of when, not if, Ohio State catches a few lucky breaks and wins a natty, IMO.
