He always rubbed me the wrong way in his previous stops, but I liked him a lot on ESPN. As the coach of OSU I'm very torn, because I don't like him but he coaches my team, so I abstain from judgment

The honesty is appreciated. And I agree.

Meh, I doubt Urban could control the media and police like he did in Gainsville in an NFL position. I can't see him being successful in an environment where the players get sanctioned for tweeting and smoking.

If you're interpretting that as saying he will stay with his family in Columbus after he retires, then yeah that's an LOL.

But I think Ohio State will be his last coaching job. He has already reached the epitome of his coaching career between Florida and then the school he dreamed of head coaching when he was younger in Ohio State. He would have no real need to leave Ohio State to coach anywhere else unless he pulls a Rich Rod and gets a cheerleader pregnant. So that's not really an outlandish statement.

This....

BTW Why would he want to go to the pros when he can make a shitload of money where he is at with less work/pressure????

Ohio State is his dream school.

Half the schools in college football are his 'dream schools'.

He once included both OSU and Michigan as dream jobs, doesn't exactly sound like a Buckeye diehard.

If he fakes another heart attack right after Saban announces he will retire in a year, I think thats a good clue that might happen.

He was born and raised in Ohio. There are plenty of people that are Michigan fans in northern Ohio it's not surprising he has respect for Michigan football.

That being said, there's no reason why he would leave Ohio State to go to Michigan. That's so counter-intuitive it's not even worth discussing.

Would he go to the NFL, I highly doubt it.

He's 50 years old. He coaches for 5-8 more years, maybe wins a title at tOSU maybe doesn't.

Retires and works for ESPN on a cushy job 20 weeks out of the year and does whatever he wants the rest of the time.

He really has no reason to go anywhere else when he can rule the B1G basically every year with elite talent alone.

I wasn't suggesting he would leave OSU for Michigan, I just always think it is funny when I see 'dream school' thrown around with Urban Meyer. He uses it so often that it really has no meaning.

He obviously says it to make a good impression on his latest fan base.

But anyone that thought Florida was his dream school was pretty dumb. Let alone Bowling Green or Utah

I couldn't care less what he said about UF, he chose us over his #1 dream school, that was enough for me. We paid him to do a job and he did it well for awhile.

I don't have any ill will towards the guy, it just I have seen the words 'dream school' thrown around Urban Meyer enough to know that if the NFL came calling he would listen.

If his dream franchise the Browns or Bengals or Steelers, or Colts gave him a call he would definitely listen.

I think he's a good/great coach, but does he really have a scheme or style that translates well to the NFL?

I really don't think he does.

He's not a players coach like Harbaugh that fires people up and a down to earth guy.

And he's not Chip Kelly's go as fast as you can and run the read option guy either.

I just don't see it, but I really disliked him at FLA and I'm not in love with him like a lot of Ohio State fans. He is a A+ recruiter and a good motivator that never quits. He is a great coach and I hope he succeeds at Ohio State.

Personally I think he's always been a shitty tactician and X's and O's coach.

Great recruiter - great motivator. Especially at Utah...but his scheme and gimmick (shout-out to SEC fan) is pure college and long - one dimensional...he's rode that pony well.

But he sucks arse at adjusting on the go. Games he loses - he loses early on the scoreboard and never gets it turned around.
