Caught 40 in 2 days. This was day 2:

Not pictured are 2 logger heads, 2 softshells, and one eel.

Didn't catch any monsters but had a couple 25 pound flatheads on day 1. Had a blast and got a big ole mess of fish to fry up now.

I love setting lines in river. Nice haul. Those are good eatin size.

All those spotted cats- must've used live bait?

Hell, what's a spotted catfish?

OP, where do you live? I wouldn't eat anything out of the Miss River just sell 'em to the people who eat them.

Logger head*

Auto correct got me on that one. I've never heard one called spotted. We caught FHs (some people call them yellows), whites (humpbacks), and a few Blues.

I live in NE ms. We did that fishing right outside of Clarksdale though. You're missing out. They're the best damn catfish I've had.

Flats are unbelievable to eat. We hand grab in Mississippi and load up on em. Have fried em up for people that have never had em or even know what they are and it blows their mind.

Logger head as in the sea turtle?

I hope you put him back toot suite.

The Feds frown upon keeping or even catching those.

Your dog could be in jeopardy.

I believe you. Are you concerned about the chemicals and heavy metals present in the meat?

If you've been eating them for a year of sundays, keep on.

Nah I figure the beer, grease, snuff, or my wife will kill me before some pussy arse river chemical gets me. Plus, they're delicious.

This. The sheer volume of water going through there is amazing.

Eta: nice haul OP, my kin folk have been running jugs the last few weeks on the Bouie river and cleaning house

Thanks. The particular shoot that we fish we have basically all to ourselves. The guy that own it is in a pretty exclusive hunt club right on the river.

Not sure about MS but you can catch one per day in Louisiana. One per boat, not per person.

Those are a big plus. What area of the river were you fishing and what for bait?

I caught around 30 lbs of fillets on two runs on Old River, but only put out around 80 hooks. Best bait was crawfish.
