LSU back up to 9th in RPI

Was at 11th earlier today. Not quite as big of a jump as I expected but still more than enough, especially considering Vandy is sitting right in front of us and they definitely won't be a national seed.

LSU was .5900 going in
LSU got a .25 bump now .5900
Vandy is .5930 right now.

Still can't believe the .029 bumps that Rice and Houston got after their wins. We didn't even get that for beating the RPI #1.
It's just data so hard to argue, but was surprising.

I still don't believe it's "data"

quote:Maybe beating UF and weakening their RPI cancels some of the boost LSU would have gotten. Now LSU lost 3 games to a team with a little lower RPI.

We show nearly tied with Houston.
After TCU won, Texas and Rice got a nice .0003 boost. Then Houston got zero. Whew, thought we were about to fall to #10. Big difference in those ascetics when you're fighting for a national 8 seed.
Wonder how the official NCAA rpi's look... Boyd's world has us higher than Nolan. Hope Boyd is closer.

Warren Nolan is probably closer for LSU at least because Boyd's doesn't factor in ties.
