Being on the wrong side of identity politics is worse than mass murder.

These people are lunatics.

He is one of the bleeding heart libertarians, but who he is is unimportant, it is what he believes that is important. The left is injecting identity politics into everything (See privilege as a motivating factor for Common Core).

Never mind. Got the answer. It's a big part of what's wrong with the general population's approach to politics right now.

Appeasing the perceived unprivileged.

cisgender vs transgender
heterosexual vs homosexual
white male vs everything else

Any excuse to protect a class of people that isn't white male pretty much.

You know those white straight males who believe the whole world is out to get them? Identity politics is the opposite extreme

It seems like this nutbag is who he was responding to:
Christopher Cantwell web site
quote:

What if we were to try and consider the motives behind shootings, instead of the tools? Well, if we did that in this particular case, we can pin this shooting straight on the left.
...

quote:

... he was a socially awkward, effeminate, beta male, with obvious mental problems.

That seems to sum up the shooter pretty well, don't you think?

They've really kicked it into high gear during this second term. They think they're going to soften people's minds with the constant PC hammering anywhere and everywhere. Instead, I think it will have the opposite effect.

exactly. calling him a beta is as bad/wrong as calling him a "more aggressive misogynist a-hole"

labels are labels

betas hate being called betas...i say this as a formerly STRONG beta who is trying to transform himself

I don't really like the term "alpha" and "beta" anyway. Seems like another trendy turn of phrase we will look back on and think was stupid.

Then again, maybe I'M a beta...

it's just a label, and it's not new. "alpha male" has been used for every decade of my life (and i'm 31)

"beta" is somewhat new, but it's just the other side of the coin

"alpha" just means strong, aggressive, confident, etc

"beta" is more weak/meak, emotional, and less appealing on a biological level. for some reason "beta" has become identified with "intelligent" by betas, which is bullshite in all honesty. i bought into that thinking and it robbed me of many years of my prime

Oh, I know it's not new, but it seems to have gotten a lot more play as a trite phrase that is losing its meaning the more it is used.
