I am here for the summer and am just looking to see if any Austin residents and visitors have any solid input on where to go. I am in college, so I am targeting moderately priced restaurants like Trudy's, Hopdoddy's, etc. I can't hit up any steakhouses until the parents visit

I am not picky at all. Just want to cover as much ground as I can before August. Best Tex-Mex, BBQ, etc comes to mind over seafood because I can get the best in LA

eta: I am sure there is some great seafood in the city, but I am going to assume it is all very upscale and out of college prices

Funny, I asked him about Torchy's and he said,"It's really good for a chain."...then followed with "Awww, you should try cane's"

He's from Chicago to be fair. And yes, Torchy's is better than well over half the Tex-Mex I've had in Louisiana. It was really, really good

Home Slice Pizza, some of the best NY style pizza I've ever had. Pies are HUGE so a po' college kid will enjoy leftovers. Chuy's is pretty good too & cheap.

What is your style?

What is the name of the Saturday farmers market across from the W down around 2nd street? Some great food there. I've had pâté', pork belly and some of the best beef tongue and beef cheek tacos there for just a couple bucks. Amazing stuff.
