I'm nearing the end of season 3 right now. Don't know how I ever missed this show. I love it. It's really good.

Or just anyone other than CJ Cregg. Her story line, particularly the romance side, was the worst. Plus, I couldn't buy her role and position that came later in the show.

Sam. The show was better with him on it.
CJ was good as press secretary and horrible as chief of staff. That never made sense to me. Plus, they didn't replace her role as press secretary. The show had its flaws toward the end, but had a strong last season in many ways.

The CJ move was ridiculous. Just a casting decision and not a remotely believable rational plot move. Guess they didn't want to add a new major cast member and Santos pulled Josh away so it was either CJ or Toby.
Leo for VP was another misstep. Half the show was LEO not wanting people to be pulled down by his past addiction issues, then suddenly he wants to run....even though he just had a MASSIVE heart attack. RIP John Spencer. He was great as Leo.

Maybe it is time for NBC to fire up a new West Wing with Sam running for President. Bartlet thought Sam would be President one day.

I have said that Sorkin needs to do another show with Sam as a Congressman or Senator and watch him rise to president as a West Wing spinoff with new characters. Bring in the older characters for cameos from time to time and maybe give Josh a recurring role. But, center it on Sam and have him take on the challenges of the day.
It would be a great show - 100% better than most of the garbage out there.

West Wing is a good show, but it's definitely not made for binge watching. I binge watched for a couple of weeks and got to the end of season 2, and I was burnt out.
Probably need to resume and just do one episode a week.
