Do they normally take this big a break for the NBA playoffs?

Three days in between games 2 and 3 for both the conference finals??

The extra day is because the previous series ended early.

yeah, the NBA really needs to get rid of the whole setting the NBA Finals dates before the playoffs even begin.

TV wants the series to be spread out so you can have two weekends of games.

TV gets what TV wants. They control EVERYTHING.

that isn't really it. The NBA schedules the 7 dates for the NBA finals so that the arenas know to keep those 7 dates open no matter what. The playoff schedule is then stretched out to assume for 3 rounds of game 7s up to the finals. Since the last round didn't require game 7s we are stuck with a gap.

The more hilarious part is when he says that he only gets interested in the Finals...when the "breaks" are sure to occur.

How do they know which arenas need to keep those dates open? Do all 30~ teams keep those 7 dates open all year long?
