Why LSU doesn't travel that much OOC...

Ok folks, here we go...
There seems to be a misconception from some people who are just starting to post around here as to why LSU should schedule better teams, travel more, etc...
The NCAA changed the rules of the RPI to give bonus points for road wins. By doing so, they had to shave points somewhere else so they do so for home games.
Road Wins - 1.3
Home Wins - 0.7
Home Loss - 1.3 against the RPI
Away Loss - 0.7 against the RPI
Now that we can see clearly about this RPI nonsense, let's break it down.
LSU will not, will not, will not, will not travel too far OOC since we built the new Alex Box Stadium. Sure, we might go a few places during the week and what not, but before SEC begins, LSU is going to be playing 95% of their games in Baton Rouge.
Why?
Money talks, everything else is bullshite.

LSU is the most profitable college baseball program in America, and it isn't even close.
Net Profit for Baseball Program in 2013
1. LSU - 2.11 Million
2. Texas - 1.92 Million
3. Tulane - 335,338
If Texas didn't own the state of Texas, LSU, and the state of LA, would own baseball. #SuckitAmerica
The average team loses 28,000 a season from baseball. LSU averages nearly 2 million a year from baseball.
It doesn't take a freaking genius to see that LSU has no reason to travel to another state, we make so much freaking money, average to solid teams will come here and we are OK with that thanks to the SEC being so strong.
Our expenses are nearly 5 million while our revenue is around 7 million. Does it make sense whatsoever to travel on down to Texas and play a Rice team that might increase our RPI by two spots? Nope. And CPM has a nice size wallet to justify staying home.
If anyone around here still thinks they will win an argument for traveling to play OOC, um, find a way to make the 150,000 profit that bring home each weekend series.
How dumb can someone be to say, "I think we need help with our RPI and going to Rice, Texas, Miami, etc... is a good idea for one weekend."
Meanwhile, you just cost the program $150,000....

Stop bringing in SWAC teams. Play ULL three or four times midweek.

That's fine, if that's what LSU wants to do from a financial standpoint, great!
But tell PM not to whine about it and when you get left out of the tourney like you did back in 2011 you have no argument! or if you get left out of hosting this year you have no argument.

Sorry man, I really am. I just got pissed off at something someone said about traveling elsewhere and had to show a reason why we won't

Telling us about the $2MM profit and saying we can't afford to travel in the same post is fricking hilarious.

One would think that since 2011 happened and the selection committee got hammered for it on air and by the vast majority of the college baseball universe, that it should not happen again. We are one of the few programs in baseball that should get the benefit of the doubt ala a Duke, UNC or Kentucky in basketball. Am I right?

it makes sense. and playing so many games at home doesn't cost us hosting a super regional if we take care of business
