we can afford to travel, but every road game costs us a huge chunk of change compared to playing a home game

Not sure I ever said that.
I said that we make money when we play here, traveling elsewhere isn't justified because of the money we make in a weekend series.
Teams are averaging a loss in baseball of 28,000 and we bring in 150,000 a weekend.
Money is money and I think LSU and CPM love having it for other things like recruiting.
I never said we couldn't afford to travel, I said we can't justify it because of what we lose

Honest question... do away baseball teams OOC not get a check, like they do in football?
Playing in the Minute Maid classic next year will help with RPI. Beyond that, it seems like you could do an early season matchup against a team that is pretty stout, that doesn't require too much travel, and can play at a nicer, larger stadium.
For example...
Play Rice or Houston @ Constellation Field in Sugar Land
Play Univ of Texas at the Round Rock Express stadium
Play Miami at the Marlins ballpark
Play North Carolina at the Durham Bulls park
Would require a return trip. Schedule two of these a year - so each year we have a nice road trip and a good team coming to the Box OOC

One would think that since 2011 happened and the selection committee got hammered for it on air and by the vast majority of the college baseball universe, that it should not happen again. We are one of the few programs in baseball that should get the benefit of the doubt ala a Duke, UNC or Kentucky in basketball. Am I right?
You saying LSU should host?

Seems to me it would be a Win-Win. LSU would fill up their stadium.
Or do more neutral site things. I know the economics are football are completely different than baseball... but I wonder if it can be tried.

Quality Teams don't want to come play here OOC because LSU is awesome at home. Check stats.
Our home record since CPM got here is
237-66-3

Our home record is good because of the shitty OOC. Not the other way around.

It's the pre-conference play schedule that pisses me off. Not much you can do about the midweeks during conference play.

i don't think many make sense for LSU... either play at Zephyr which is Alex Box NOLA, or play Florida State in Mobile, the most neutral site on the coast? The Longhorns in Dallas or Houston? Most other nearby states only have SEC teams, and most teams are either SEC or not worth playing
