I have known about this story for over a month because I know the sister of the marine being held in a Mexican Prison. It is just now starting to make national headlines which is necessary to get one of our own out of the prison and back into our country. I will post links to a few articles that explain the details of what happened. Sign the petition on one of the links so that the total number can reach 100,000 to be addressed by the white house. Senators are starting to pick up on the situation now. We can let all of the illegals in from Mexico but cannot bring one of our own back home who has defended this country on two tours overseas.

How long was he imprisoned before he tried to escape and landed in the federal pen?

So what, exactly, is a petition going to do?

I hope they release him, but this doesn't sound like the way to do it.

Maybe the First Lady can hashtag him to freedom.

I can't help but think there's a lot more to the story.

According to the article, he accidentally crossed at a substation that he crossed into accidentally.

It was poorly lit and poorly marked according to Fox News' Greta van Sustren

I agree.. if it as stated, its fricked up, but there is a lot in there that makes me wonder.

The ptsd, him keeping guns in his vehicle bc he thought people were after him, and living out of his truck throws a kink into the story.

Something just doesn't add up IMO

This entire story requires some clarification. For the record, I (and many) have literally taken a wrong turn/failed to take an exit and ended up in TJ. It happens. If you have booze or guns or whatever, they generally turn you over to one of our own (state, DoD, etc). It's crazy that any command (or Navy Region SW or the Marines, or any number of DoS officials) aren't raising hell about this.

Why are the dogs not barking?

Maybe he met the Mexican equivalent of the sheriff in Macon County Line.

So, what happened was he lived in Florida and needed a change of scenery. He packed up everything he had and moved to San Diego where he knew a few people. He was having trouble adapting to society and the norms again so he figured moving would help. He was only in San Diego area for about a week and still had not completely unpacked everything. You know as an active marine he did not think much about the guns in his vehicle, also considering he is a southern man who grew up between TN and FL. Anyways he was receiving treatment for PTSD which was diagnosed as well. He parked legally and walked over to Tijuana, and then around 9pm that night he mistakenly drove the wrong way. There are barricades that prevented him from turning around, he told customs at the border station that he had guns legally purchased and needed to turn around. They contacted Mexican authorities and arrested him. At the prison in the general population they tied him down and tortured him, he tried to escape/kill himself in the process after about a month, then he was moved into solitary confinement. With the 911 tape it is obvious he was not trying to sell the guns or get drugs, etc. I don't care what his intentions were, we need to bring our marine, our US veteran who is still active duty, back to USA. If there is discipline to be had, we can deal with it. I'm sorry but he deserves better than this. Michelle Obama can't hashtag her way out of this one

Mexico is off limits to Marines. They told me so when I was crossing back into the US after watching the donkey show once.

He took guns into a foreign country. Sorry, but he broke the law. being a marine don't excuse that.

Ok Napoleon. That feeling would change if it were a circumstance involving you I am sure. He was at the border entrance and there was no turn around. A legal owner of legal weapons. And he disclosed this information. He has defended your arse for this country, he deserves us to bend over backwards for them.

I know where the borders are and know they always have turn arounds and "last exit before Mexico/Canada" signs.

Who did he defend me from? I really hate that line, but it's unpatriotic to say otherwise.
So yes, he protected me from the sand people I guess.

Yes it does.

It is Mexico. If we had any brass we would tell them to let him go or we are sending more Marines to come and get him.

You are entitled to your opinion, thanks to the fighting men and women that have served this country.

I am entitled to mine. I think you are an idiot that has no appreciation of the history or honor of being born in this great country.

Perhaps we should work out a trade...a few thousand illegal Mexicans for one American.
