So, what happened was he lived in Florida and needed a change of scenery. He packed up everything he had and moved to San Diego where he knew a few people. He was having trouble adapting to society and the norms again so he figured moving would help. He was only in San Diego area for about a week and still had not completely unpacked everything. You know as an active marine he did not think much about the guns in his vehicle, also considering he is a southern man who grew up between TN and FL. Anyways he was receiving treatment for PTSD which was diagnosed as well. He parked legally and walked over to Tijuana, and then around 9pm that night he mistakenly drove the wrong way. There are barricades that prevented him from turning around, he told customs at the border station that he had guns legally purchased and needed to turn around. They contacted Mexican authorities and arrested him. At the prison in the general population they tied him down and tortured him, he tried to escape/kill himself in the process after about a month, then he was moved into solitary confinement. With the 911 tape it is obvious he was not trying to sell the guns or get drugs, etc. I don't care what his intentions were, we need to bring our marine, our US veteran who is still active duty, back to USA. If there is discipline to be had, we can deal with it. I'm sorry but he deserves better than this. Michelle Obama can't hashtag her way out of this one

I REALLY hope he let California know he entered it with his guns because if not that is a major felony right there......unless they weakened the gun laws there which would never happen!

Who did he defend me from? I really hate that line, but it's unpatriotic to say otherwise.
So yes, he protected me from the sand people I guess.

He was a grunt that deployed twice to Afghanistan.

He took guns into a foreign country. Sorry, but he broke the law. being a marine don't excuse that.

But being a murderer, rapist, kidnapper who's living here illegally gets you a get out of jail card

Mexico is off limits to Marines.

Been that way for at least 10 years now.

I saw the fox news article posted today. Sgt Maj Sprague was my units Sgt Maj for a year or so and I find that article very very very poorly written. They make it seem like the Sgt Maj is calling him out singularly, when the letter was written to all members of the IRR.

Both ideas are stupid because Mexico would never go for that trade. Their economy would crumble even more if we sent back a few million Mexicans.

Then just send them back. Their economy is THEIR problem.

Yes, the signs are there. And Greta Van Whatever demonstrated how easily one could make the mistake of getting in the wrong lane. There were at least five lanes at that crossing and the one on the far left was the "back to USA" lane. He got in the wrong lane and once there, was stuck in the lane as the lanes had barriers for what looked like 100 yards, if not longer. His option was to proceed forward and expect a reasonable person(who probably sees this mistake daily) to allow him to pass through and turn around under the eyes of security or to predict what actually occurred and stopped his vehicle in the lane refusing to move forward. He was detained and imprisoned for a harmless mistake. You applaud this?

This actually happened to me about 10 years ago. I was unfamiliar with the lower TX portion of my territory and accidentally entered Mexico. There was nowhere to turn around and I panicked a little bc there was a high incident of crime against Americans at that time in that region. I remember calling my mom to mapquest where I was to determine the best course to reenter the U.S. immediately without trouble and sadly learned that mapquest didn't cover Mexico. Luckily, there was a turnaround not much further down the road.

This is the problem with "no intent" laws and regulations.

It creates accidental criminals.

I'm talking about the thousands of illegals, many of whom were murderers, rapists, and kidnappers, that were recently released.

Greta covered the route on Fox News and it really makes it clear how he could have accidently crossed the border at night. It's retarded that it's not easier to avoid.

I'm sure if he looked more like Obama's imaginary sons he would have been freed by now.

I did the same thing back in 2009. Was in the wrong lane and coulding turn around.I was on my way back to Louisiana from Califorina.Had a 357 mag. a 9 mm and three 12 ga. shot guns.Didn't think about them untill I turned around in Mexico. The guard ask where I was comming from.I told him I was in the wrong lane and just turned around in Mexico .He took my Name and wrote down my tag number. GOD WAS WITH ME THAT DAY. I would have been still in jail or dead my now. I had over 1500 shot gun shells that I had reloaded with me.
