I got 14 mpg on my first tank with new tires, and that was at 30 psig. I raised it to 35 last night. I've read that you can run 50 psig in these E rated tires, but I'd probably have to duck tape my teeth in. Is there a point of no return on mileage with air pressure in offroad tires?

ETA: To be honest they are all-terrain tires, but a bit more aggressive than the normal ones...

I've always sacrafice MPG for a smooth ride. I run 40PSI in my 3/4 ton truck. I don't haul that often and it rides way better than with 55PSI in them. The tires look good on your truck!!!

I run 34-37 on my mud tires on the jeep, your fuel mileage gain won't justify the horrible ride. Depending on how much bigger and heavier they are than factory recommended tires, the only thing to get better mileage is to regear appropriately.

With 10 ply tires on that go kart you'll probably have to tape your teeth in regardless.

Run 5lbs under rated for MPG and run just enough to keep them on the rim for off road.

I read a harvard study that showed 42psi is the ideal psi for ride/comfort/and mpg on toy trucks.

No shite. Why someone would get E rated tires on a small truck, I have no idea

I have always drawn a chalk line across the tread and inflated until the tire contacted the ground evenly. Conserves tires much better that way.

I have C rated tires on mine and do stuff like this with it. I can't imagine how horrible it would ride with 10 ply stuff

Dont forget josey, My truck > your truck

I got them for side wall durability. I absolutely don't want to have flat on the trip we're about to go on. I have 8 days of Sierra mountain drives and I need to get back down.

I rode around through sharp pointy sticks all day with D rated Swampers on my Tacoma and they never got punctured. Your life is gonna suck with those tires

I'm thinking about airing them up to 50 psig just to see if I can handle the ride and set a mpg mark through the rest of the tank. 50 psig!

Check the contact patch. That's a bunch of air and not much load.

I personally like my truck to ride a little shitty, so I usually roll around at rated pressure.

I don't mind the ride at 35 psig, it's not some huge difference. We'll see at 50. I'm reading that I should up it incrementally to 'break in' the tire. Sometimes I think the internet is full of shite.

It is, you been on the OT lately....

I would think 50 is going to be way to much. You will probably find a sweet spot somewhere between 28-35PSI.
