Draw a line of chalk across the tread. Drive straight down the street for 1/2 mile or so. Look at what part wore off. If outside, put more pressure. If middle, less pressure.
Should be around 30psi, but with different tires than stock, you have to do what I said. The door will not be correct, but close. The tires rating is max psi

Not quite, alot of people misunderstand the load rating on side of the tire. They are tested with 65PSI and rated for the stated load at that PSI. Unless you're running 10 ply tires and hauling heavy loads often you should not run this much pressure. IF you are running 65, drop it to 35 and it will feel like a new Cadillac!!!

That is max tire pressure - what they require is on a sticker on the drivers door or door frame

i'm not a tire nor a genius. wouldn't the curvature nature of a road affect the wear on the tire on a simple straight line chalk test?

Hell, I take my truck to the locar NASCAR track and run a few hot laps then pull the temp gun and take temps across the tire to check my contact patch....

That looks like a pretty great trip, if you're driving. I don't think I could ride shotgun bouncing around for 8 days.

Obviously you wouldn't do the chalk thing on a Nascar curve, but the amount that the downward force of each side moves respective to the banking/tire rolling down is insignificant when you are driving(once properly inflated)......if that makes any sense.
In general, the tire will wear properly when inflated properly. If you overinflate, it will be noticeable after 5k. Under-inflation will also be noticeable. If you drive straight under-inflated, the outsides will wear evenly more than the middle. If you turn fast and a lot under-inflated, the edges of the tire will wear more

How much weight have you added to your truck? Is your roof rack making that much of a difference, because 14MPG is horrible mileage in a Tacoma. Even running ATZs in 33x12.50 I got 17 in my 08. My 12 gets 18.5-19 with 255/75 Trail Grapplers and they are heavy as hell.

I'm worried about range more than money. 14mpgs is 250 miles a tank, 300 would allow for less stops on our road trip out west.

4x4? The manual transmission is shite for mileage as well, but yea the roof rack can't be good for mileage. I don't think I ever got 16 though.
