I'd say that's more of an indictment on our history of qbs rather than a feather in Brooks' cap. Not a HOF worthy player.

If Bobby's in there, he's there. And Bobby was/is a bigger a-hole than Aaron Brooks EVER was. I just figure some of y'all are too young to remember or would give him a free pass because he's from Cut Off.

outdoing shitty predecessors doesn't really make you HOF worthy. Now with local HOFs sometimes guys just get in because they were beloved by the fans, obviously that isn't the case for AB either.

Like people have previously mentioned, if Hebert got in the HOF; Brooks deserves it too.

So in order to get into a team's HOF, you are graded on what, exactly? The rest of the history of the NFL? Or the history of that team?

him leading us to our first playoff win should really be enough. He brought excitement back after 10 years or terrible football. And that's not even getting into his statistics, which clearly make him the 2nd most prolific QB in our history

Looks bad for anyone else in the Saints HoF, but I get the significance of winning the first playoff game ever for the franchise. Still think the team should have just gotten a section or something. He was a terrible QB for us mostly.

I actually completely agree with you here.

Take Brees away and Brooks is our best QB ever.. Sorry to burst the bubbles. Deserved. Happy for him.

Brooks was slightly above avg (and, either the 2nd or 3rd best qb in franchise history). I think why most people dislike him is the fact that Delhomme was the backup, and only got to play when Brooks was hurt. But, that's not an indictment of Brooks, that's on the coaching staff.

I supported him up until the last two seasons. All the physical tools you could ask for in a QB and that's what made him above average. If he would have work ethic and mind of the greats the sky would have been the limit. Ultimately deserving he did some good things here.

I remember his first pass ever was an interception and his second a touchdown. That's how maddening his inconsistency could be

Excellent point... Not only Brooks but the entire team. Because as time has passed you can clearly see who should have been the head coach

What has Brooks been up to now days? Has there been any interviews or what not since his playing days ended? Seems like he just faded away.

I totally forgot he went to the Raiders after the Saints.

IIRC, last I heard he owned a construction company in Virginia or something like that.

YR - yards - TD - INT - RAT

2000 - 1514 - 9 - 6 - 85.7
2001 - 3832 - 26 - 22 - 76.4
2002 - 3572 - 27 - 15 - 80.1
2003 - 3546 - 24 - 8 - 88.8
2004 - 3810 - 21 - 16 - 79.5
2005 - 2882 - 13 - 17 - 70.0

Those were his peak years. He only played 8 games in 2000, played 13 games in 2005 but had a bad year (who didn't), and went to Oakland after.

Not a bad stretch of 4 years. Not terrible overall. Made poor decisions at times, but was really good for the Saints. No doubt he belongs in the Saints Hall.
