Rumor: Xbox One to get a Master Chief Collection, Halo's 1-4

Just want to preface this by reminding everyone that this is the same site that originally reported the new CoD game would be set in WWI. But they owned up to their mistake, so I'll cut them some slack.

And in a previous story, a Microsoft representative mentioned that in the "fictitious world where [Halo 2 Aniversary Edition] existed ... it has to be just the multiplayer experience that we all found in that first Halo 2 game."
We reached out to Microsoft for response, but the company does not comment on rumors and speculation.

The Halo franchise is important to Microsoft, but to say that the XBone is really dependent on Halo is pretty asinine.
If that were true then the XBone would have launched with Halo available.
That's like saying the PS4 is really dependent on Killzone or The Show.

Halo was huge for the original Xbox. It was a console seller. Later on Halo 2 did that same thing as I bought an Xbox because of how all my friends had Halo 2.
For Xbox360 I think the big seller before Halo 3 was Gears of War. It was a console seller.
Xbox One does not have that title yet. I think they expected Titanfall to be that title.
All of this to say that Halo may be the thing Microsoft and Xbox need to get this thing rolling.

I've had a boner since reading this thread this morning. I want nothing more than to jump on H1's campaign before H2's MP.
