He pitched Friday. How do you think Coach Maineri will handle his pitching in the SEC tournament?

Now that we have a bye, he needs to go game 1.

Pitch him game 1--- if we are way up after 3-4 innings --
Pull him to save for the Championship. If we don't have
A decent lead--- use him up--- we need to stay in the
Winners Bracket.

Yep. Weds 9:30am keep us in the winner's bracket. Have him available for 5 days later during the Sunday championship game.

Especially since we'll probably be facing Vandy's ace.

He isn't going to throw on 4 days rest and he definitely isn't going to throw on 3 days later in the tournament.

If we end up in the losers bracket it only means we have to win one extra game.

Not to adopt a selfish mentality here but these are the beginning of his last games in a Tiger uniform. I say use him however we need to to help us win. If that means pitching him Wednesday and again on Sunday for short stints, then that's what we should absolutely do.

That being said, I say throw him on Wednesday with a pitch count. Just because I don't think Vanderbilt/Tennessee is an automatic win.

Well, those dates are completely inaccurate so not much of an argument.

Nola threw on Friday

5 days later we play our first game in SEC tourney

4 days later is the championship game which we may or may not make. He would not play more than a few innings.

We are extremely thin on starting pitching and need the option.

That's called 4 days rest.

It make no sense to push any of our pitchers hard for this meaningless tournament.

Nola pitches Thursday. Then, you've got Poche to lock up a regional. Nothing else matters.

If I were Nola I'd pretty much hang up the glove for my college career. No sense chancing getting injured on some throw-away games. Time to get ready for MLB.

Parker Bugg/Cartwright/ maybe even Coon starts on Wednesday morning I think... Then Nola, Poche, Bowman... I wouldn't be surprised if Duvall gets a start. Didnt he start last year in Hoover?

That would be the definition of adopting a selfish mentality. Sure let's wear him the frick out and potentially hurt the guy because he's gone after this season anyway

It's not.

I'm not saying let's go out and have him throw 18 innings over 5 days. I'm not saying have him go out and jeopardize his future (because we all agree pitching two limited outings over 5 days isn't going to hurt anyone). But I want to play out these scenarios in a way that's best of the Tigers and that's doing it the way I suggested doing it.
