Got reservations to Dante's Kitchen and plan on heading to Avenue Pub via streetcar after, decent date night? I've never been dining in NOLA and neither has the lady since she's from out of state and I was poor for the last 31 years (new job - yay!), so I hit up Urban Spoon for restaurant suggestions for food that isn't all fried. I've been to Avenue Pub before, loved it.

Dantes Kitchen, yay or nay? Heard their brunch was great, but not much on their normal menu.

Avenue Pub is hit or miss depending on the girl. If she is down with a beer bar and nothing fancy about the place looks wise, its great. Very local feeling.

She's a beer nerd, hence why I wanted to bring her there instead of any shitty bar like the Bulldog. Was thinking about the Aline Street Beer Garden as well.

If she's a beer nerd, Avenue Pub definitely.

I didn't know if this was the type of girl that needed to go to the Carousel Bar to be impressed

Check to make sure Street car will be running the full route. Its been scattershot lately with all the construction.

Why not go somewhere closer to Ave Pub? Delmonico, Coquette, the whole Wharehouse District would be a better play.

Avenue Pub is a way better idea than Aline Street, fwiw.

Coquette will definitely impress her. Especially if y'all can snag a table upstairs. Decorated very girly.

And the food is outstanding.

A date at Coquette and then Ave Pub would be a wonderful date.

Careful, did exactly this a few years ago to celebrate something and now we have sold our house and in the process of moving to NOLA.

Not sure we planned it, but that is the cliffs of what happened.

Dantes Kitchen is pretty solid. I'm a fan.

Don't take the streetcar. It only running Claiborne to Napoleon, then you have to transfer a bus and take that into town. It's a hassle and not very romantic to ride on the bus. Cab it.
