Pretty dumb to bring a wad of cash like that just to testdrive a car from someone you find on craigslist.

I sold a computer one time and this meth head chick got out of the car and her bf parked behind me a little ways and i was nervous as frick. We were at a pretty public gas station with people all around, but it was one of the sketchier things i've done. if i ever sell something on craigslist again, i'm bringing a gun and im having my brother in another cdar with a gun overlooking the whole transaction

And that's why you don't go alone, and meet at a bank or similar place.

WHAT??

Pretty dumb NOT to bring cash when you are buying a used car for less than $5k from someone.

This is rare as hell.

I always have back up.
Just bring a friend.
It's hard to rob two people.

If I was selling something and someone came by my property open carrying I would probably tell them to beat it.

No, it's dumb as hell to bring that much cash to meet a stranger selling you something.

Nashville murder

This happened to a guy (friend of a friend) in a VERY busy Nashville shopping center a couple of years ago. His brother was his "back up" and watched him get shot. You just never know who is going to show up or what their motives are.

I sell stuff on Craigslist from time to time, just use common sense and avoid unsavory characters you can't research.

Pretty much every time, I've been able to nail down who the person is, their FB profile and their employer within a few minutes. If I can look you up on your accounting firm's website, I assume you're not going to knife me in an Outback parking lot.

If your name is Bob and your email address is gh54825@gmail.com, I'm going to just wait for the next offer.

I guess it depends on the amount.

I buy and sell a ton of crap on Craigslist and Ebay.

I go into the ghettos (daytime only) and into people's houses. I get there is a chance of this happening, but I take it as rare.

I try not to carry more than a $100 unless I have too. I will take a credit card payment, and I would say I prefer it, but 2.5% ads up.
Checks can be made of rubber.

Most people deal in cash.

If I'm selling a car, your coming to my house. If I'm selling an item you are coming to my house or I'm going to yours.

I have met in public places for little things like from the Facebook swap pages, but I feel like I'm doing a drug deal.
