I got a nice set of stainless steel All-Clad for my place. Great to cook with.

I know nothing at all.
I hear "non-stick" a lot though.

You can get good deals on Calphalon stainless if you look around and/or wait

does stainless have any problems with sticking?

Yes, but is generally preferred.
Non-stick is more convenient, but you have to be careful with utensils and care.

I have a set of All-Clad stainless and a set of Calphalon non-stick. Both are very nice. IDK what either costs - got one set as a gift and the other through hotel reward points.

We got the Calphalon Bronze pots and pan for our wedding and just started using them. They are fantastic, and I would highly recommend them.
ETA: We did also get a stainless Calphalon wok for stir fry and such. It works great as well. Food comes out noticeably better compared to our old cheap pots and pans.

All Clad is more expensive, at least somewhat, but part of that is that Calphalon has a wider variety of quality. I'm not sure if All Clad has a lower brand or not.
Another solid but not necessarily high end brand would be cuisinart, which you can also find at discount on Amazon and the like

we have scanpans and love them. they are non stick but don't use any teflon or other things to make them non stick, just anodized aluminum.
they were really expensive though, I think its was close to 750 for the entire set.

I make macaroni and cheese in it several times a week usually
And even using a metal fork doesn't frick it up
