Did they adjust my setup? Is it strange to for this to upset what was a perfect alignment?

I guess I'll just get a front end alignment when I bring it in for service, i just wonder wtf happened. It's a serious pull to the right. I checked tire pressures all around and they were spot on.

Strangest thing, the tire shop guy kept saying my rims move, but that he put the two worst ones in the back. Like the center part of the wheel moves relative to outside. He said he got them balanced though. I inspected the rims and they looked perfect. I bought used rims, but off a '12 FJ. Not sure what to make of that...related to my pull to the right?

like the rims.

I'm all about that look on my tacoma. Thought about seriously raiding a junk yard and picking up 3 more spare tire rims for full-time use. Noticed that when I had a flat on my new truck and had to put the spare on. My spare looked more rugged than my stock rims.

Your wheel moving like that relative to everything else is something I may be concerned about.

You can check tacomaworld for any help on that pull though.

It could be what's called "radial pull." It happens sometimes with tires. Swap your two front tires... If it is a tire it will either a) go straight down the road or b) pull to the left now.

If it does one of those two you'll know its a tire and not your alignment. If it's still pulling to the right then it probably has something to do with the alignment.

You bought bad rims. Sounds like they are coming apart. Get your money back.

Yes something isn't right. Try swapping fronts and rears.
I'm more shocked that the technician noticed something wrong and still went ahead with the install and let you drive down the road.

I bought them off of Craigslist from a used car dealership in Alabama. I don't think they came with a money back guarantee.

its not alignment.

are the tires new or used
if used one of them has a cord going bad.

the side it is pulling too should be the bad tire

Brand new tires. Relatively expensive ones.

I worked at a tire place for a while and occasionally we would have a bad new tire.

swap the front tires side to side and see if it changes the pulling to the other side.

You may need hub-rings.

Tacomas and FJs both are both 106mm so if he has factory FJ wheels the hubs are the same.

Are your other wheels steel or aluminum. Toyota uses conical lug nuts for steel wheels and flat base for aluminum. My best guess would be a bad tire though.

Using your own quote. "What is it good for then?"

Time for modifications.

Plasti-dip the left wheels or check your lugnut bearings.

I derped my left hand, three times. It's both stickier and a dime heavier. Solved it.

This should eliminate the pull.
