So you guys are telling me you'd give up Lee AND Archer for Cooks?

Now don't get me wrong I think Cooks is good and had we just simply picked him over Lee at 27 I'd be fine. But I feel Archer can fill whatever role Cooks would and you get another solid WR.

But regardless, even tho this post doesn't seem like it, I AM excited to have Cooks on this team. Now I'll hang up and listen.

frick. Lee.

We made the right choice. Cooks is better than Lee/Archer. Better WR than Lee and better scat back than Archer.

Acher is a gadget player. He's tiny. Prob wont be more than a return guy

Cooks can break a game wide open, he's just too perfect for us to pass on

You guys will drive yourself CRAZY with these hypotheticals.

Let go of these counterfactuals.
You'll never be satisfied if you pursue this for too long.

It is what it is. They had to make a power move on their highest rated player. There must be something with Lee medically because a lot of other teams with WR needs also passed on him.

Even if that would have been preferred, how the frick would they have known the draft would fall that way? Nice 20-20 hindsight logic.

I'm pretty sure it was widely known SJB or a CB of equal value had a 2nd round grade and Archer was a 3-4 rd grade. Really not that unrealistic.

Exactly.

I think the Saints made the right choices. Captain Hindsight is a South Park character.

I think if you skip Cooks and take Archer we get "predictable" again. Certain packages last year WE could have told the defense what was coming. Now with Cooks you don't have that. He can Jet Sweep and run the ball, he can take screens and turn them into huge gains, he can catch quick underneath routes and create separation for potential big plays and he can flat out stretch the field to open up those seam routes we love to throw for JG.

We didn't just take the player we took the scenarios he presented to the playbook of bringing back the element of surprise.

CB of equal value
Just because other teams/experts have guys ranked one way doesn't mean the Saints do, and who says the Saints even like Archer? We like him but that doesn't mean jack. And he still could have gone before our pick instead of after. It was a 6 pick difference and not a sure thing like you make it seem.

Boom.

This guy gets it. Instead of having 2 predictable lesser players we got better talent in one player that makes things more unpredictable.

I don't want 2 players that I can have all in one... Seems like a wastes roster spot... Instead of having archer stealing a spot for wr/rb that wouldn't be on the field much except special teams and certain decoy type plays that cooks would just fill the same role

I like our pick and feel we actually got great value with the 1st rd trade... Better than most trades in the draft

According to McShay, Cooks had the best hands in the draft, second only to Jarvis Landry.

Looking at his you tube highlights, it's actually hard to find "slot" highlights as 98% of the clips show him out wide.

Cooks is not only ultra-quick and super-fast, but he also has Landry hands. Sounds like the reincarnation of Steve Smith to me.

Been banging this drum.

A faster Steve Smith without the attitude.

And yes those hands are amazing. Watching him catch is beautiful. Watching Lee catch?
