His grandpa passed away. May he rest in peace.

Really not trying to be insensitive by asking this, but any word if he will be playing this weekend? Completely understandable if he would make the trip home.

I didn't ask but I highly doubt he will go home and miss the weekend. I'm sure his grandpa would want him to play.

When did he find out? I saw him heading to the baseball field a couple hours ago

Wow. That's a tough spot for the kid.

You know he's hurting and wants to be with his family and you also know he doesn't want to not be there for his team.

If he decides to return home to be with family, I perfectly understand and I hope LSU fans will not begrudge him for doing so.

I'm assuming today. If I know Alex, he's gonna do exactly what his grandpa would want him to do, and that's play ball. I would totally understand if he went home though.

From what we know, he is going to play every inning of every game in purple and gold.

His weekend numbers are probably going to be sick too!

3 games

.650 BA, 3 HR, 8 RBI, 5 R, 4 BB, 1 K, 2 SB, 2 2B
