Travel Board: NY Airport Connections

Can anybody give me their experience on the best/cheapest way to get from JFK to Newark or Leguardia? I arrive on an international flight to JFK at 530am. I know that I can either take a shuttle from there to whichever airport. Does anyone have any experience taking the train from JFK into Manhattan to get on a connecting train to either airport? Thanks

Change your thread title. Take out Travel Board or you'll get the automatic anchor.

Haven't gone to lga or JFK but I've taken the train from ewr into penn station then the subway around the city for the day. Very easy to do

The shuttle from either airport to Grand Central was about 15 bucks a few years ago. Probably a little pricier now but much better than a cab. Not sure if there are shuttles between airports but JFK-Laguardia definitely seems more feasible than Newark.

I have done this a few times, and its not pleasant. make sure you have plenty of time between flights. Take a cab, the shuttles are so slow.
Laguardia to JFK was about a $25 cab fare when I did it in Oct, but it was midngiht. Getting a cab at laguardia did take close to an hour though. LAME.
JFK to Laguardia was about the same, although it was a few years prior. It was about $25 in traffic, and took about 30 minutes.
For JFK to Newark, take the train. I have never done this but when I fly into NYC now, I try to fly into newark as you can take the train to manhattan. Its faster, cheaper and less stress than taking a cab.

Take PATH to Newark Penn. From Penn you will take the train to the AirTran for the airport. The AirTran is under construction but there are buses that are being used as a substitute.
You can pick up the PATH at WTC for a direct shot to Newark Penn. If you pick up the PATH on the 33rd St line then you will need to switch trains at either Grove St or Journal Square.
It is easy and fairly cheap. The PATH is $2.50 with free transfers. The train to AirTran is $8.50 and the AirTran bus is free.
ETA: Or you can take NJ Transit from Penn Station to the airport.
